Jude's hair was getting a little unruly so I decided to borrow some clippers from a friend and attempt to cut it myself. There are a few longer hairs here and there but overall I think I did a pretty good job. Then we decided it would be cute to put my work uniform on Judah and give him his little vacuum and take some pics (the things we do for entertainment!)

I know it is early but I started decorating for Christmas today!

So I have started getting gray hairs and I am only 23, and they aren't even really gray they are completely white. So yesterday I was waiting to get my dog's rabies shot and I found one and decided to dye my hair. I went black. At first I was thinking "this was a really bad idea" but after I did my hair I really like it and it makes my eyes stand out really well.

A couple of weeks back we were watching the season 5 premiere of The Office and the part where Michael comes in wearing a fat suit came on and Judah laughed harder than he ever has. The Lion Of Judah and Slides

I took Jude to the park today and he started going up the stairs and down the slides by himself for the first time. He also liked to just sit on the park benches and watch all of the other kids play. I included a little video of him going down the slide.

We went to Communityfest at Eastpointe last night on Halloween. Judah was the cutest lion i've ever seen.

Ok, so I gained 5 lbs over the holidays and I was less than happy with myself. I got back on track this past week and in addition to doing my weight watchers I decided to start walking at least 10,000 steps a day. Well today when I weighed in it paid off! I lost 5.4 lbs. Im so happy with that. Oh and I now fit in my favorite jeans that I haven't been able to wear since before Jude was born! They are a little snug but they fit!

Garage Sale Update

I have decided to wait until after we move to have our garage sale. I just have too much on my plate right now and I don't really want to do that to myself. The house and all of the stuff we leave behind (as well as Asa's brother) will still be here and I will just take my time getting it ready. I'll post again when I pick another date.

Me as well as about 20 other women from Eastpointe Church are embarking on a mission to complete the 15k that is the Gate River Run. We started our 13 week training 2 Mondays ago. Tonight we went and got our Christmas tree and decorated it and we are getting ready to watch a Christmas movie. We decided to watch one together every night until Christmas.

We found out today that Asa's mom's new house is not going to be ready in time to have Christmas there so now we are going to have it at our house. We are kind of bummed about it. I have a ton of work to do and not much time and i'm a little stressed. His mom also decided that she would like to have Christmas Eve dinner at a Chinese restaurant in St. Augustine like they did on A Christmas Story. The rest of us are not too excited about that either. I'm really missing my family this year. It's going to be my first year not having everyone together. My older brother is in Brazil and we can't find my neice ( I would appreciate it very much if everyone could pray for both of them. My brother has a hernia that needs surgery but they are very poor there and they don't have good medical care, and my neice is "missing", she is with her mother but they are on the run and hiding from us and my brother cannot do much from another country, we are in the process of having an investigator look for them). My mom will spend it with her boyfriend, my younger brother will be with his girlfriend, and my dad will stop in sometime. All of Asa's family will be here and that is a great thing. They are so fun to be around and all of you who know Ace, know that he is always cracking jokes. His entire family is like that as well. Thank you to all of our friends who have been such a blessing to us this year!

Getting into the Christmas spirit

I have been having such a hard time this year getting into the Christmas spirit. This is the first year that I am truly so grateful for Christ and his birth. All of the years prior I didn't have the relationship I have with Him now and it is just so incredible. So why do I feel so down about Christmas? My whole life before now Christmas was about the giving and receiving of gifts,trees decorated with ornaments,cold weather and snow(or lack thereof), and just the magical feeling of the season. I am having a difficult time forgetting all of that junk or not making it the most important thing. Money has been such a struggle for us and having a family is such a huge responsibility and I just let it get to me more than I should. I am so fortunate to have what I do and I take it for granted and my human nature just tells me I need more and more or as much as so and so has. So I started to take some action to get me moving along. We found out today that we are not going to be able to move until after Christmas so I started to get out some of our decorations and I'm hoping to get a little Charlie Brown tree sometime this week or next. I hung the stockings on the mantle ,hung some mistletoe and a wreath, and put some lights up around the house. I know now that these things and how much we can spend are not the important things anymore but they sure do make things fun! I am so appreciative of all of our amazing friends who love us no matter what and who also love Christ as much as we do. We have a bond that can never be broken.

Cassie's Weight Loss Endeavor

Okay, I am sick of not being able to fit into my pre-prego clothes! My goal is to be back to my pre-prego weight by Judah's first birthday which is January 21. I have 16.6 lbs to go. That is not my ultimate goal but it's a reasonable one for the time I am alotting. I'm going to add a ticker to the very bottom of the page so that everyone can see my progress. I am doing the Weight Watchers Core plan rather than the Flex plan that I did before. On the Flex plan I lost 30 lbs in 3 months and I'm hoping the Core plan will give me similar results. I started it this week and it seems much easier to follow. I will also be training for the Gate River Run starting Dec. 10 which should give me the exercise I need. Wish me luck and keep me accountable and check out my ticker each week!

I hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving! We hosted at our house this year and had a great time but we also had a couple of important family members missing from the table. My dad lives in NC and stayed up there, my older brother Andy and his wife Suely live in Brazil and my neice Veronica (Andy's daughter) lives with her mom. Asa's dad and oldest brother drive for Panther Trucking and they are on the road for the holiday. My younger brother and his girlfriend Kelsey stopped by to hang out for a while but ate dinner at her aunt's house. So all in all we had Ace, myself, Judah, my mom, her boyfriend, Asa's mom, his nana, and his brothers Andy and Aaron. Of course we stuffed ourselves silly and laughed a lot.
